About the role:

An exciting fixed-term opportunity is available for an Accountancy Support Officer to join the Council's Management Accounting Team, working 37 hours per week until 31 March 2027. This entry‑level role offers a great start in Corporate Finance. Applicants should have strong communication skills, sound numerical ability, Excel confidence, and a positive, can‑do attitude. An Excel test will form part of the interview process.

Interviews will be held remotely using Microsoft Teams.

  • Assist with day‑to‑day financial administration, including processing, checking and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Undertake reconciliation activities, ensuring information is accurate and handled appropriately.
  • Use spreadsheets and financial systems to input, analyse and present data clearly.
  • Follow agreed procedures and deadlines to support the effective delivery of finance and office‑based processes.
  • Work as part of a team while also managing individual tasks, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
