Position: Producing Lead (Shared Leadership Role)

The Producing Lead focuses on project initiation & programme delivery. They translate strategy into action, build new ideas, ensure they run smoothly & maintain good budgetary control. The Producing Lead ensures our artists are supported, our communities feel held & is frontline & operational.

  • Employed, part-time (3 days/wk), starting 6th April 2026
  • 12 month contract
  • £36,000 per year FTE. £21,600 for 3 days/wk - 22.5 hours
  • Based at The Dance Centre, Llandrindod Wells.

Impelo is entering an exciting new period from April '26. We're reopening our studio space in Llandrindod Wells, building on our reputation for socially engaged & inventive approaches to dance & community from our rural base & introducing a new shared leadership & staff structure.

Made up of 3 interconnected & equally paid roles:
Strategic Lead, Producing Lead & Administrative Lead, together they balance the artistic health, day-to-day delivery, & financial wellbeing of the organisation. Working collaboratively, this team ensures that Impelo's programmes are delivered with care, clarity & excellence - supporting artists, participants & partners, while building & maintaining strong systems, internal communication & organisational stability.

These roles will suit people who thrive on collaboration, coordination & creative problem-solving, & who value people-centred ways of working.

The Producing Lead focuses on project initiation & programme delivery. They translate strategy into action, build new ideas, ensure they run smoothly & maintain good budgetary control. The Producing Lead ensures our artists are supported, our communities feel held & is frontline & operational. They work closely with the Strategic Lead & Administrative Lead, acting as a creative dynamo & ensuring that Impelo's artistic activities are relevant to both our rural communities in Powys & the dance communities across Wales.

This role holds the day-to-day reality of Impelo's work, you'll be comfortable with shared leadership & enjoy human contact with the communities we work with.

Job Requirements About You / Person Specification – Essential / Desirable
  • Experience producing or coordinating arts or community programmes (E)
  • Strong organisational and project management skills (E)
  • Experience of working with artists and freelancers (E)
  • Understanding of inclusive, participatory and community-led practice (E)
  • Confidence managing budgets, schedules and multiple priorities (E)
  • Experience of collaborative, non-hierarchical or shared leadership models (D)
  • Excellent internal communication and relationship-building skills (E)
  • Experience in organisational change or recovery (E)
  • Experience of working in rural contexts (D)
  • A working knowledge of Welsh (or willingness to learn) (D).
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver Impelo's activity
  • Create project timelines, schedules and delivery plans
  • Support artists and facilitators with logistics and care.
Operational Coordination
  • Liaise with venues, partners and communities
  • Ensure safeguarding, access and inclusion are embedded.
  • Act as a key point of contact for artists, freelancers and participants
  • Work closely with the Administrative Lead to ensure smooth systems
  • Feed learning, insights and challenges back into organisational strategy.
