We are looking for 2 Associate Quantity Surveyors to join our teams in the Southwest (Bristol, Bridgwater/Exeter) and South Wales regions, to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your commercial and contractual expertise while contributing to projects that are critical to the UK's net zero ambitions.
Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, providing commercial support across a portfolio of complex construction and infrastructure works.
What You'll Be DoingYou will support the management of contracts and commercial activities across project packages and sub-projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the commercial evaluation and assessment of contract proposals.
- Supporting contractor payment applications and undertaking cost audits.
- Reviewing contractor claims and helping assess the time and cost impacts of compensation events.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of project cost forecasts.
- Taking ownership of smaller contracts, with guidance from senior colleagues, as part of larger project programmes.
- Supporting project teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, timescales and National Grid governance requirements.
- Contributing to contract risk reviews and helping identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Building strong working relationships with Project Managers, Planners, Senior Quantity Surveyors, contractors and other key stakeholders.
- Proactively escalating issues and seeking support when required to ensure challenges are addressed early and effectively.
You are organised, analytical and process-driven, with the ability to gather and assess information to support informed commercial decisions. You take a structured approach to problem-solving and are confident in your judgement while recognising when additional guidance is needed.
You are an effective communicator who collaborates well with others and values learning from experienced colleagues. You are eager to develop your career within a supportive and high-performing team environment.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role.
- Experience working on construction, infrastructure or major project environments is desirable.
- HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management/Construction Law, or a related discipline, or currently working towards a relevant qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to sites and project locations across England and Wales with nights away if needed and when required.
- Salary of £47,400 - £57,000 dependent on experience and capability,

- 37 hour working week with hybrid working model between Home, Site and Office
