Rhondda Cynon Taf are currently looking for a self‑motivated and enthusiastic Senior Planner to become an integral part of our dedicated Planning Policy team.

In this role you will be responsible for aiding in many aspects of the production, implementation, monitoring and review of the statutory development plan (Local Development Plan – LDP).

The successful candidate will undertake multiple planning policy‑based tasks, including the production, implementation, monitoring and review of the statutory development plan, gathering an updated evidence base and carrying out public consultation to inform the preparation of the above documents.

The role also involves preparing supplementary planning guidance documents and the preparation of local, regional and national planning policy observations on pre‑application development proposals, planning applications and appeals.

You will participate in regional planning groups, represent the Council at development plan examination hearings, public inquiries and other planning hearings, and assist with the preparation of Cabinet and Committee reports as required.

A hybrid working arrangement is in place with staff able to work from both home and the office, staff are required to work in the office 2 days a week, or additionally when required on occasion. Employment hours are 37 hours a week under the flexible working hours scheme, and our generous annual leave allowance will provide you with 26 days holiday each year, increasing to 31 upon 5 years of completed service.
