Pay: £25,583 to £26,403 per year (pro rata), £13.26 to £13.69 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent (Part Time)

Hours: 25 hours per week, 21:00 – 07:00 nights

About this job

Care Assistant (Nights) 25 Hours at Ty Dewi Sant. Provide personal, physical & emotional care in a residential setting for older people and those living with dementia.

Work in accordance with agreed policy and procedures, contribute to care planning, review, accurate recording of information & administration of medication.

Hourly rate enhancements are paid for unsociable hours, weekends, and bank holidays (plus lieu day for bank holidays). Times:

  • Friday: 12 am – 6 am – Time & 1/3
  • Saturday & Sunday: 12 am – 6 am – Time & 1/2 & 3/4
  • 12 am – 10 pm – Plain time
  • 10 pm – 12 am – Time & 1/3 & 1/2 & 3/4

Hours of Work: 1 vacancy, 25 hours per week, rotation schedule (Week 1 Wednesday & Friday, Week 2 Monday, Wednesday & Saturday, Week 3 Tuesday & Sunday, Week 4 Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, Week 5 Wednesday & Saturday, Week 6 Thursday, Friday & Sunday). Main place of work:
Penarth.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of providing person‑centred personal care, support with acts of daily living and emotional support to vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to participate in training and work toward a professional vocational qualification (City and Guilds level 2 (Core and Practice) or equivalent).
  • DBS check required:
    Enhanced.
