Nursing Support Worker; Mental Health

Job Overview

The Nursing Support Worker is a vital part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team. Acting under the direction of Registered Nurses, the role involves engaging in a variety of interventions with patients, ranging from direct compensatory nursing care to monitoring physical health and delivering psychosocial interventions within the community and patients’ homes. The worker supports the patients’ recovery pathway by providing role‑modeling around effective communication and relationships, and by supplying information used in multi‑disciplinary assessments and Care and Treatment Plans.

• Engage in direct nursing care and patient interventions as directed by Registered Nurses.
• Monitor physical health and provide timely feedback to the team.
• Deliver psychosocial interventions within the wider community and patients’ own home.
• Model effective, reciprocal communication and relationships with patients.
• Contribute information essential to multi‑disciplinary assessments and Care and Treatment Plans.

• Motivated and enthusiastic with a commitment to patient care.
• Ability to work flexibly within a shift system, providing 24‑hour a day cover, 365 days a year.
• English and/or Welsh speaker; proficiency in Welsh is desirable.
