Come and join our teamWe are seeking a Senior Fleet Team Leader to play a key role in the management and operation of the Council's fleet maintenance service.
The Council operates a large and diverse fleet of vehicles and specialist plant equipment. As Senior Fleet Team Leader, you will coordinate and oversee the delivery of vehicle servicing, repairs, diagnostics, maintenance and MOT testing, ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance and reliability.
You will be responsible for allocating and prioritising workshop activities, supporting Fleet Team Leaders at both Cillefwr and Glanaman depots, managing workloads across sites, and providing technical guidance on complex repairs. The post also carries responsibility as the Council's nominated DVSA MOT Site Manager, ensuring the Authority meets all statutory obligations and testing standards.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with extensive experience of commercial vehicle and plant maintenance, strong leadership skills, excellent technical knowledge, and a commitment to delivering an efficient, customer-focused service.
Applicants should possess a Level 3 NVQ in HGV maintenance and repair, along with a suitable supervision/management qualification. A HGV licence is essential for this role.
This role will be based at our Trostre Workshop in Llanelli but there will be a requirement to travel to the other workshops as and when required. There will be an opportunity to work regular Saturdays.
Level 2 - You will need a basic level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
