Role Overview
Huntsman is currently recruiting for a Process Operator at our chemical manufacturing site in Llanelli, South Wales. As part of a shift team of Operators you will be responsible for providing a flexible resource for a number of production areas across a lower Tier COMAH site, operating plant equipment and chemical process. As a Process Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our chemical manufacturing processes.
RoleResponsibilities
- Operate continuous and batch chemical process and utility units through both field operation and control room DCS operation.
- Perform regular process unit checks, taking samples for laboratory analysis and adjusting process operations as necessary.
- Directed by the Lead Operator to carry out specific duties to maintain optimised operation of the production units.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and address equipment issues promptly.
- Prepare the production unit for maintenance activities such as plant wash outs and isolation of process equipment.
- Responsible for safely offloading high hazard materials to site storage tanks.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in compliance with Huntsman Corporate EHS and Business Conduct Policies and guidelines.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Process Operator.
- Preferably, experience in the chemical industry; however, candidates with relevant experience in other industries will be considered.
- Preferably, Process Plant Operations (PPO) level 3 qualification or equivalent such as BTEC / C&G or NVQ level 3.
- Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot chemical processes and equipment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a shift-based environment.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Proactive, career-focused attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
