Within our UK Finance team
, Leprino is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across our Llangefni, Magheralin, and Northwich sites. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will take ownership of our weekly and monthly payrolls, serve as the primary point of contact for payroll matters across the business, and partner closely with Finance, HR, site leadership, and our payroll provider to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

What

You'll Do:
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of weekly and monthly UK payrolls for employees and pensioners across multiple sites.
  • Manage payroll processing through iTrent
    , ensuring payroll data is accurate, complete, confidential, and processed to required deadlines.
  • Oversee both Time & Attendance-based and salaried payrolls, including the review and resolution of payroll exceptions.
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable UK payroll, tax, pension, and statutory requirements.
  • Partner closely with Finance and HR to ensure employee changes and payroll inputs are accurately reflected in each payroll cycle.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with MHR
    , our payroll solution provider, and coordinate the resolution of system and processing issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll matters across our Llangefni, Magheralin, and Northwich locations.
  • Support employees and managers with payroll queries, providing clear, accurate, and timely guidance.
  • Explain payroll calculations and deductions in straightforward terms, translating complex payroll matters into information employees and managers can easily understand.
  • Build effective relationships with HR Managers, site leadership teams, and people managers to support accurate payroll administration and proactive issue resolution.
  • Work closely with the wider Finance team on payroll-related financial processes, reconciliations, reporting, and administration.
  • Review payroll information and identify discrepancies, trends, or issues requiring investigation and corrective action.
  • Maintain appropriate payroll controls, records, and documentation to support accurate reporting and audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen payroll processes, controls, communication, and ways of working across the business.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
  • Management-level experience within a UK payroll and/or payroll-focused Finance role
    .
  • Hands-on experience managing or processing UK payroll from end to end
    .
  • Experience with both Time & Attendance-based payrolls and salaried payrolls
    .
  • Working knowledge of UK payroll requirements, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments.
  • Experience with Finance processes associated with payroll, including payroll reconciliation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple payroll deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly.
  • Strong IT skills and experience working with payroll and business systems.
  • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and resolve payroll issues effectively.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across Finance, HR, operations, and leadership teams.
We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience using iTrent/MHR for payroll and Time & Attendance.
  • Experience managing payroll across multiple UK sites or business locations.
  • A recognised payroll qualification, such as a CIPP qualification
    , or equivalent professional payroll training.
  • Experience improving payroll processes, controls, systems, or reporting.
