Corporate Contracts and Procurement Officer Working for Isle of Anglesey County Council

Under the leadership of the Procurement Manager and the general direction of the Senior Corporate Procurement Officer, the post holder will work within the Procurement Unit and assist with the development and implementation of the Council’s Corporate Procurement Strategy and to contribute towards the successful operation of the Procurement team.
Additionally, the post holder will be required to assist with arranging some corporate and service specific contracts for certain goods and services through a tendering and contracting process, as well as participating in customer focus developments and expenditure data analysis work.
Procurement Team Responsibilities- Providing advice, guidance and training to services on procurement and other relevant legislation, Council tendering processes and procedures, and contract management.
- Leading procurement exercises on behalf of services as and when required.
- Monitoring the Council’s compliance with procurement and other relevant legislation and UK/Welsh Government mandatory guidance, and the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules.
- Monitoring and reporting on performance of procurement matters across the Council.
- Liaising with the Council’s legal team on contractual, legal, or regulatory matters.
- Managing the procurement and contract management of a number of Council-wide contracts including (but not limited to) energy, photocopying, office, furniture, and IT supplies.
- Maintaining and ensuring services update the Council’s contract register.
- Administering and accounting for expenditure through the Council’s credit cards.
