Key Responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of light and heavy equipment with a focus on grader operations to maintain hamlet roads, alleys, dust control program, and gravel program.
• Act as a relief grader operator.
• Operate and maintain equipment according to the Thorhild County Transportation and Safety Manual.

Required Qualifications

• Heavy Equipment Operator certificate or relevant experience.
• A minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Standard First Aid.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and to perform a variety of manual tasks (heavy lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, and climbing.
• Work performed with exposure to the outdoor elements.
• Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Successful candidate required to provide a Criminal Records Check and Driver’s Abstract.
• Must participate in a Fitness to Hire Assessment.

Remuneration and Benefits

$33.26-$39.89 per hour

Additional Information

This position is included within the scope of the County’s unionized setting (IUOE Local 955. Pay range for this position is $33.26-$39.89 per hour. Regular hours of work are based on operational requirements and may be up to ten (10) hours a day and forty-four (44) hours per week.. Current employees of Thorhild County fulfilling the requirements essential to this position shall be considered for this position.

Drivers Abstract Required

Successful applicants will be required to provide a Drivers Abstract prior to their first day of work.

Criminal Record Check Required

Successful applicants will be required to agree to a Criminal Record Check prior to their first day of work.
