Overview
Join as a Challenge Course Facilitator in Baltimore for the Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School (CBOBS). As part of the Outward Bound USA network, you will lead immersive outdoor programs that build social‑emotional skills and foster life‑long learning.

Location: Baltimore
Schedule: Part‑time, seasonal (Spring–Fall)
Start Date: March 23, 2026
Compensation: Per diem – $120.00 during training; $144.00 after training
- Seven (7) days of Paid Sick Leave

- Facilitate 1‑day programs primarily onsite in Baltimore (occasionally at our DC location) and offsite partner locations.
- Design and adapt curriculum and lesson plans toward clear outcomes:
Belonging, Courage, Physical Engagement, and Reflection. - Build and maintain a inclusive group culture, assessing dynamics and using student‑management tools.
- Manage the safety of all participants and staff; make proactive decisions to avoid risk.
- Follow CBOBS policies, report incidents in a timely manner, and assist in daily reporting.
- 21+ years old
- Must clear a federal and state background check
- Adult CPR and First Aid with Epi Pen training (completed before training period ends)
- Experience with youth (12–18) in schools, mentoring, camps, or community programs
- Comfort with outdoors in all weather for a full program day
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and working with diverse populations
- Able to support movement on uneven terrain and manage safety systems
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record (preferred, not required)
- Students report positive growth in Belonging, Courage, Physical Engagement, and Reflection.
- You build trust‑based relationships with students and peers.
- You demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and reflection, modeling self‑regulation.
- You commit to and complete at least one full season (March–November preferred).
