Fixed Term / Secondment to 30/04/2027

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, creative and dynamic individual to join Argyll and Bute HSCP as Assistant Management Accountant. This post is based in our Lochgilphead office with a hybrid working option.

Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant and Support Accountant, you will assist with delivering a professional management accounting service across a number of services provided at Lorn & Isles Hospital, Oban. You will support all aspects of financial management, including monthly reporting, costings and financial analysis.

You will work closely with professionals across a range of disciplines who are committed to making a difference, learning how a complex organisation works, adding value to key health services and building a range of transferable skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the delivery of a professional management accounting service across multiple sites.
  • Provide support in all aspects of financial management, including monthly reporting, costings and financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with a range of health professional teams to support financial objectives.
Essential Attributes and Qualifications
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems, including MS365.
  • Team working ethos.
  • Good planning, organisation and time‑management skills.
  • Qualified to HNC level or equivalent relevant public sector work experience.
  • A desire to work in financial management within a complex organisation.
Travel and Licensing

You may occasionally be required to travel between various work locations within the Argyll and Bute localities to meet operational requirements. A full driving licence is essential.

Visa Eligibility

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker Visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
