NHS Highland is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Orthotist to join our in‑house orthotic team. This role relates to service provision across Argyll and Bute.
Continuous support from Orthotic Professional Lead in North Highland, with strong escalation and support pathways.
The base is negotiable within Argyll & Bute and can be decided upon following discussions mal NHS T&C’s apply when travelling from base, time and expenses are supported. Clinical rota across the localities is flexible and can be negotiated.
Providing high‑quality, patient‑centred orthotic care across both inpatient and outpatient services. You’ll manage a diverse caseload and take part in specialist and multidisciplinary clinics.
Key Duties- Assess, treat and manage patients requiring orthotic devices.
- Support the development of junior staff and trainees.
- Participate in service development and multidisciplinary clinics.
- Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent organisational and communication skills.
- BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics & Orthotics (or equivalent).
- Registration with the HCPC.
- Ability to demonstrate post‑graduate experience managing complex caseloads independently.
- Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to challenging clinical situations.
- Strong communication, organisational and decision‑making skills.
- Full Driving License
- Band 6 experience preferred but Band 5 candidates able to demonstrate clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
- Evidence of supporting implementation of service improvements which directly enhance patient experience.
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and implementation of evidence based practice.
This post has been advertised as 22.2hpw. If you take up post after 01/04/2026, the hours will be reduced to 21.6hpw with no loss of earnings under the Reduced Working Week guidance.
