We are seeking a Maintenance Manager for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Lock Haven, PA
. This position will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the Paper Machines and ensuring all team members’ goals are aligned with department objectives.
- Leads and develops a safe work culture through adherence to and maintenance of all company safety rules, policies, and standards.
- Exhibits strong core leadership skills – accountability, credibility, trust.
- Ensures coaching, discipline, recognition, and handling of situations is consistent with HR policy.
- Develops salaried and hourly maintenance personnel to ensure bench strength.
- Conducts performance appraisals, performance improvement, and coaching of both salaried and hourly personnel.
- Utilizes and promotes the usage of the CMMS system to provide direction and assistance to maintenance personnel within the Paper Maintenance team.
- Promotes growth of the maintenance team by providing leadership in the development and implementation of:
- Preventive maintenance programs
- Reliability improvements
- Analyzes operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance‑related metrics including unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, Mean‑Time‑Between‑Failures, and maintenance‑related costs.
- Champions the availability and reliability of our assets using the following:
- Effective maintenance planning and scheduling
- Champions vendor services to maximize quality, performance, and reliability of equipment repairs. Utilizes vendors and OEMs for improving the skills of maintenance personnel and for improving inspection routines.
- Manages Controls and Mechanical Engineers to improve equipment availability.
- Supports all mill Reliability efforts.
- Develops and creates a vision for the maintenance team and implements it.
- Interfaces with Production, Engineering, Human Resources, Purchasing, Stores, and Utilities departments.
- Develops and maintains staffing plans to meet business requirements.
- Develops and delivers maintenance budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, additional years of experience may be considered.
- 10 years’ experience in the maintenance field; experience in Paper Machine preferred.
- Three to five years’ experience in a Maintenance Supervisory position.
- Deep understanding of the planning and scheduling of maintenance work functions as they apply to predictive, preventive, precision, proactive, and planned maintenance.
- Strong human relations and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills in aiding the reliability of the operation.
