Forklift Operator

Hours:

Monday-Friday (40hrs Per Week + Overtime)

As the Yard Operative, you will be responsible for working as part of a team assisting with day-to-day operations within the Lockerbie yard and stores, to ensure high standards are maintained and Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure deliveries are loaded and offloaded safely and in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety procedures.
• Responsible for checking and counting inventory stock.
• Ensure the yard and storage areas are kept clean, tidy and compliant with the company policies and procedures.
• Assist with processing, checking and signing in deliveries.
• Maintain discrepancy records reporting in a timely, efficient manner.
• Follow and abide by company policies and procedures at all times.
• Deliver a high standard of service to delivery drivers and customers.
• Undertake additional duties as and when required.

• Previous experience in undertaking yard duties; loading & unloading trailers.
• An understanding of Health & Safety and manual handling regulations.
• Must hold a valid Forklift License.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Enthusiastic individual who can work well as part of a small team and independently.
• Able to identify improvements to processes and contribute ideas that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
