Job Description

Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. Responds to questions regarding drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders. Responsible for assisting in writing change orders, RFLs, meeting minutes, and reviewing submittals. Maintains a professional relationship with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The position includes three steps (I, II, Senior) providing progression based on skill and experience.

Job Summary

As a Data Center Field Engineer, you will support project engineering activities, including as‑built drawings, submittals, and project documentation. You will work across multiple project phases toward successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist project engineer in developing and maintaining as‑built drawings; review and process submittals, change orders, RFLs, and budgeting.
  • Support the project management plan (PMP) and change‑management process by performing project scope activities and ensuring project success.
  • Administer the project quality‑management plan and promote a culture of safety.
  • Assist in calculating daily production rates and unit costs for self‑performed work; participate in risk management and environmental control processes.
  • Oversee or support BIM coordination between subcontractors and designers.
  • Document and submit for LEED certification; create and update Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
  • Provide lines, grades, and layouts as required while maintaining an organized log book.
  • Maintain weekly quantity logs in compliance with the cost‑control manual and assist in budgeting and cost control.
  • Support superintendents in executing work and resolve field problems as needed.
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate with others.
  • Entry‑level position requiring a four‑year construction‑related degree or equivalent technical/field experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Physical Requirements
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • Frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the waist; occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend.
  • Use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices for limited communication.
  • Compliance with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Occasional climbing of stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Frequent use of hands to grasp, lift, carry, or feel objects.
  • Interaction with people during shifts.
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling objects.
  • Sitting, standing, or walking short distances for the duration of a shift.
Safety Level

Safety‑Sensitive. Tasks may involve operating vehicles, equipment, machinery, power tools, handling hazardous materials, or operating machinery that could affect safety.
