Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position has primary responsibility for supporting all aspects of the Treasury function as well as providing support to the Accounting Department. This role is expected to help ensure that daily bank reconciliations are completed. Additionally, the role will be responsible for managing the Company's credit card program and completing daily intercompany reconciliations. This position will also be heavily involved in assisting the month-end close process.
This position will suit someone who is inquisitive and determined to grow in their role.
- Perform the daily treasury functions for the organization, daily bank reconciliations and managing payments.
- Managing the accounts payable approval process and challenging status quo
- Managing the corporate expense and purchase order platforms, trouble shooting and enhancing controls
- Play a key role in the preparation of month-end and year end process from start to finish, closing financial reporting within five days.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations for other balance sheet accounts
- Assist with the external auditors and their requests
- Perform variance analysis and seek explanations
- Assist in investigations to identify root cause to issues and recommend counter measures
- Helping and assisting fellow team members with problem solving
- Preparation of ad-hoc reports and analysis for management
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting or similar discipline
- CPA or working towards CPA is desirable, but not essential
- 1+ years of work experience in accounting roles preferably in logistics
- Must have a continuous improvement mindset
- Use of Great Plains is an advantage
