Job Purpose

The Operations Supervisor reports to the Warehouse Manager and oversees all 2nd‑shift warehouse operations, ensuring smooth transition from the night shift, managing staff performance, and supervising all computer entry and paperwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assign work to 2nd‑shift staff, considering customer specifications and driver departure times.
  • Oversee loading of inbound/outbound freight per customer specifications.
  • Supervise local, regional, and OTR drivers; communicate updates and workflow changes.
  • Review deliveries for poor packing and material conditions.
  • Alert Customer Service, Warehouse Manager, and COO of any problems with clear information or photos.
  • Assign processing of shipment paperwork, including scanning of BOLs.
  • Ensure all shipments are accurately recorded and verified against paperwork.
  • Monitor quality and accuracy of shipments per customer specifications.
  • Maintain training on any customer requirement changes and update all staff accordingly.
  • Update Tee Card board and TMW system.
  • Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries, implementing required actions.
  • Compose shift‑over email summarizing workflow, issues, and maintenance concerns.
  • Ensure safety, training, and development of employees, drivers, and contractors under OSHA and RJW policies.
  • Oversee completion of all computer data entry, checking for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Approve shift employee timesheets for payroll, correcting as needed.
  • Monitor overtime hours and notify the Warehouse Director of equipment or building problems.
  • Ensure adherence to AIB processes, procedures, and guidelines for handling food products.
  • Complete security and safety checklists, issuing corrective actions or work orders.
  • Handle accident reporting, care of injured employees, and notify HR and management of emergency actions.
  • Perform other tasks as instructed by the Warehouse Manager or COO.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of warehouse supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak).
  • Dispatch and dock supervision experience.
  • Familiarity with Smart Turn or TMW software (plus).
  • Experience in Warehouse Management and LTL dispatch.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.
Education and Experience Required

Minimum of high school diploma or GED; some college preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate the telephone system using keyboards and buttons.
  • Speak comfortably in front of others.
  • Work in an indoor/warehouse environment, requiring sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and kneeling.
  • Communicate with customers and employees regularly.
  • Work more than 8 continuous hours when required.
  • Read and discern visual images on various media with corrected 20/20 vision.
  • Hear speech within normal range of 30 dB at 500–2000 Hz.
