Part Time Veterinarian - Joliet, IL

Overview

Heartstrings Pet Hospice & In-Home Euthanasia & Aftercare seeks a compassionate Part‑time In‑Home Veterinarian to provide euthanasia and hospice care for geriatric and terminally ill pets in the Joliet, Kankakee, Plainfield, New Lenox, Lockport, Mokena, and Frankfort areas. The role offers flexible scheduling (2–5 days per week) and a mobile practice with minimal administrative duties.

Base pay: $80,000 – $120,000 per year

• Perform in‑home euthanasia and hospice care for geriatric and terminally ill pets.
• Guide families through end‑of‑life decision making.
• Collaborate with local veterinary clinics as an extension of their care.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS).
• At least 1 year of practicing veterinary experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs assisted.
• Capability to walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, stoop, stand, and reach consistently during the workday.
• Comfortable with prolonged driving periods.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and steady hands while using medical tools.
