Responsible for all electrical diagnosis and repair proactively maintaining all plant electrical systems, installation, programming, troubleshooting, service, and repair of electrical and PLC’s in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming using ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits to the component level. Ability to make repairs to systems, read drawings and schematics, utilize a variety of test equipment and work with low voltages.
Must have the ability to work self‑guided and be able to prioritize jobs. Position requires good communication skills to adequately relay the state of equipment and estimated repair time to others. In addition, directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings and grounds.
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.
- Individual must have experience in Allen Bradle, and PLC logic programming
- Individual must possess electrical circuit troubleshooting skills
- Experience in an industrial environment as well as the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, sketches and schematics.
- Ability to write advanced A/B PLC logic program
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC circuits
- Must be familiar with related test equipment and three phase 480V circuits
- Experience with 480V and below
- Design and assemble control circuits and cabinets with user interface
- Analyze current machinery for PLC automation implementation
- Perform all manufacturing plant electrical and electronic diagnostics repair and installation, consistent with plant electricians
- Assist in the training of new maintenance techs, A, B, C and electromechanical techs
- Must be a dedicated, hard‑working self‑starter
- Experience in the repair, installation and troubleshooting of commercial industry machinery, plumbing, and/or physical building structure is desired
- Must be able to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and any other PPE that is required in the performance of the responsibilities of the position
- Work safely and maintain a safe, clean work environment, and perform available work as required by the supervisor
- Ability and willingness to work overtime/on‑call as needed and to take on additional assignments as requested by management
- Maintain 5S standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
The Lead Electromechanical Technician assumes the Supervisor role in the absence of the Maintenance superintendent.
Education, Experience And Qualifications- Formal technical training in electronics with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the craft (PLC, troubleshooting, repair, programming controllers). Associates degree in electronic field or Journeyman’s card preferred.
