Dispatcher - Equipment & Fleet

Montana Construction Inc. is a family-owned heavy construction company specializing in sewer, water, bridge, and emergency services for municipalities, utility authorities, and private entities across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. We’re looking for an organized, responsive dispatcher to keep our crews equipped, our CDL drivers supported, and our daily schedule accurate. You’ll be the central point of contact between field crews, the shop, and project management.

• Supply crews with the right equipment, and arrange replacements or rentals quickly so no crew sits idle
• Coordinate all equipment moves between job sites, vendors, and repair facilities, and track every asset’s location
• Maintain the daily rental log and flag rentals that run past their requested duration
• Work with the shop to decide where repairs happen: in the field, on-site, or at a facility
• Own the master daily schedule for personnel and equipment, update it in real time, and prepare the next day’s schedule each afternoon
• Manage CDL drivers: onboarding with HR, DOT documentation, road tests, training, PTO scheduling, incident reviews, and progressive discipline when needed
• Keep crews, the shop, and leadership informed of changes, and log all significant moves, breakdowns, and rental decisions

• Dispatch, fleet, or equipment coordination experience, ideally in construction or a related field
• Familiarity with DOT and CDL compliance requirements
• Experience with HCSS Dispatcher and Motive GPS (or similar tools) preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm and responsive during busy dispatch hours
• High attention to detail and a commitment to keeping records current
