Purchasing Manager

S&S Worldwide, Inc., the largest U.S. manufacturer of roller coasters and thrill rides, is seeking a full‑time Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic sourcing and supply chain management, including developing and executing sourcing strategies across domestic, regional, and international markets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen supply continuity and cost competitiveness.
  • Monitor global supply market conditions, logistics constraints, and supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key manufacturing vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable service levels.
  • Manage vendor performance using KPIs, scorecards, and periodic reviews focused on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Address and resolve vendor‑related issues, including quality concerns, delays, and non-performance.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with company standards, ethical sourcing practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions and establish blanket purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with receiving and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to delayed, damaged, or incomplete shipments.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, including U.S. laws.
  • Uphold corporate standards for ethical conduct and safety in all procurement activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related buying role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Net Suite is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to engage effectively both in person and over the phone.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance, including U.S. laws.
