4-H After school Assistant

The Salt Lake County Office of Utah State University Extension seeks qualified individuals who would be responsible for assisting in providing enriching after school clubs for students. Clubs typically run 1.5 hours a day for 8-9 weeks. We need assistant educators who have skill or are willing to learn skills in a variety of subject matters; such as, but not limited to Sewing, STEM, Cake Decorating, Music, Art, Etc.
Each club required 2.5 hours/day/week and Educators can teach multiple clubs a week. Classes are between 3:30 and 6:00 pm.
- Help Plan and teach an engaging 1.5 hour club at least once a week for 8-10 weeks. You might be able to teach multiple days a week and for multiple club cycles
- Help Keep an attendance record of those students who attend your club
- Attend required training
- Attend 4-H After school events such as 4-H service projects, and club showcase
- Other duties as assigned
- Must work effectively with youth, families, and school
- Job offer contingent upon successfully passed background check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-Starter, good follow-through
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Experience working with youth
- Past experience in the 4-H Program as a youth or volunteer
- Skills related to STEM and other after school subject matter
