Overview
The Disability Resource Center is seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters. DRC Interpreters provide American Sign Language interpreting for Deaf and/or hard‑of‑hearing students, faculty, staff, and/or visitors at USU.
Responsibilities- Provide ASL interpretation for USU sponsored classes and events.
- Prepare for classes by reviewing course material or other relevant information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- State or National Interpreter Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 - 3 years ASL interpreter experience.
- ASL interpreting experience in a higher educational setting.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to interact with students, faculty and others in a professional way.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, relevant ethical codes.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work within a changing schedule.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.

ADAEmployees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
