Join us at Schreiber Foods as an Operations Systems/Controls Developer located at our Logan, Utah manufacturing facility.

This position is responsible for developing, managing, and supporting operations systems used primarily on the plant floor and by Operations leaders. The core systems include Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Historian, operational reporting, dashboards, and integrations with other company systems, while also utilizing database systems for storing and retrieving data.

• This position works with Operations Systems/Controls partners as well as Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and contractors to identify opportunities and user needs that will increase safety, operational efficiency, control, and performance of production assets and partners.
• The position designs and develops solutions, system modifications, and enhancements for productivity improvements consistent with company standards and industry best practices.
• The position also manages projects and contributes to the company standards and improvements in the operations systems/controls space with collaboration throughout the company.
• Schreiber Foods has standardized to the Inductive Automation Ignition Perspective Platform for SCADA.

This role is 100% on-site at our Logan, Utah manufacturing facility.

• Develop, build, and install SCADA, MES, and information management solutions through programming/scripting, tag configuration, graphics, HMIs, reports/dashboards, and database systems to achieve productivity and safety outcomes in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Design solutions to improve safety, efficiency, control, and performance of company assets by working collaboratively with users and partners to understand opportunities, issues, and potential solutions.
• Provide issue support, troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance of operations systems, requiring 24/7 call availability, and engage appropriate IT, Maintenance, or other support teams as necessary.
• Manage projects and plan system implementations by considering impacts and risks to production processes and end users. Communicate plans effectively and build system documentation and user training/guides for operations systems and changes impacting production.
• Prioritize requests and manage a backlog of system opportunities through alignment with key stakeholders and leaders.
• Implement and support Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) solutions through programming and communication configurations for scenarios where PLCs are the best solution.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interpret and communicate customer requirements to plant production and support groups. Establish and audit PCPs, CCPs, and SOPs to ensure customer requirements are met. Review incidents where procedures were not met and determine appropriate corrective action.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in Industrial Control Systems or Manufacturing environment if no bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years experience in Operations Systems/Industrial Control Systems (within a manufacturing environment is preferred).
• Experience with SCADA, HMI, MES, Historian, Reporting/Dashboard, and programming skills (Ignition SCADA Platform and Perspective User Interface module preferred).
• Hardware and software configuration, architecture, and design understanding.
• Database skills in tables, views, stored procedures, SQL queries, and reporting.
• Ability to write software code/scripting logic (e.g., Python).
• Understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) concepts and programming logic and execution.
• Understanding of Industrial Control Systems and components.
• Ability to understand production and manufacturing processes and concepts.
