Engineering Project Manager

Summary Directs,coordinates, and exercisesfunctionalauthority for planning,organization,control,integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility. May provide technical assistance in the areas of design,procurement of materials,construction, and testing of experimental models and prototypes.

Work is broad in nature and mayhaveoverall project responsibility.

Mayact as lead on projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plans and formulates engineering program according toprojectrequirements and company standards.

Reviewsproductdesign for compliance with engineering principles, company standards,applicableregulatorystandards,customercontractrequirements, and related specifications. Coordinatesactivitiesconcerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Coordinates with internal and externalprojectstakeholders, as needed, throughoutthedesign and development process,including the transition to production.

Performs and/orcoordinates the design,execution,and documentation of experiments and testprotocolstoverifythatdesigns of products or subsystemsmeetinputrequirementsand to validatethattheproduct or subsystem meetstheintended use.

Coordinate sand reviewstheselection of prototypingapproachesand methodstoproducecomponents or subsystems to bestmeetoverall project needs and milestones; such as for testing,evaluation fortoolingrelease,trade shows, etc.

Reviewsrecommendationsfromprojectstaffregarding manufacturingmethodsand supplier selection based on project needs and requirements as well as company standards.

Directs and coordinates prototype or pilot-run procurement activitiesbothwithin engineering and with otherstakeholderssuch as purchasing and operations.

Writes and/orreviewsandapprovesdocumentation ofdevelopmentactivitiesconsistent with formal

Systems;including definition of product requirements,project planning,design output(production drawings,bills of materials,procedures,specifications,inspection criteria, ),design review,design verification and validation,control of design changes,and risk analysis.

Tracks and controlsexpenditureswithin limitation of project budget. Communicatesprojectstatus,major issues / mitigations, to otherprojectstakeholders,engineering management, and executive management.

Assists with related special projects, as required.

Qualifications Associate'sdegree or equivalentfrom a two-year college or technical school, or demonstrated equivalentprojectmanagementcapabilitythrough relatedexperienceand/or training.
