OverviewThere is a current opportunity for a technical position of Laboratory Technician II in the Utah Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (UVDL) with primary duties in the molecular section and secondary duties in serology and bacteriology sections.
Responsibilities- Perform PCR-based assays on samples of animal origin.
- Develop or transfer PCR-based assays to detect animal pathogens.
- Perform serologic and microbiologic tests on animal-origin samples.
- Participate in the laboratory's quality system, including completion of necessary proficiency tests.
- An Associate degree of science in a biology-related field OR two years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Capacity to learn/master new techniques.
