After‑Hours Advocate at CAPSA

CAPSA, Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse, is dedicated to providing safe and confidential services to those impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse, and rape in Cache County and the Bear Lake area.

• Answer the crisis line and enter all calls into our tracking database system.
• Clean and prepare rooms for new shelter clients with bedding, towels, hygiene necessities, and Heart Knit Kits.
• Assist new shelter clients with the check‑in process and conduct the exit process according to established procedures.
• Interact with residents as needed, helping to calm and reassure them, acting as a “sounding board,” and mediating problem situations.
• Collect and return keys when clients leave and record all substantial interactions with residents in the current client database tracking system.
• Attend monthly after‑hours meetings and other training, and provide feedback and suggestions about practices that create a comfortable environment for survivors.
• Perform other duties as assigned during after‑hours shifts (overnight, weekend day, or evening).

These are after‑hours shifts; current openings include overnight (9 pm–9 am Friday, Saturday, or Sunday nights), and during the day on some Saturdays and Sundays (9 am–9 pm), for about 10–20+ hours weekly. There may also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts working with the team.

Training:
You will participate in our 40‑hour Advocacy training and receive ongoing training to grow individually and benefit our community.

Salary: $15 per hour
