Site Steward role at Ameri Corps
.
The Stokes Nature Center (SNC) and UCC have collaborated to create a Site Steward Individual Placement position that will be placed with the SNC. This UCC Ameri Corps Individual Placement (IP) position will assist the Facilities Director in the care and conservation of all the areas the SNC stewards. This includes our brand‑new nature park where activities are focused on removing invasive species and re‑planting with native trees, caring for a raised‑bed community garden, and creating a healthy wildlife habitat supporting everything from native pollinators to mammals, including humans.
The position will also assist in the stewardship of a public pollinator park, including re‑planting as needed, weeding, mulching, and more as required to ensure the health of the plants. The IP will also help with the care of the SNC’s flagship location in Logan Canyon, including tasks such as hummingbird feeder cleaning and filling, caring for our teaching animals, and redesigning hands‑on exhibits.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing organization. The position is primarily outdoors, and a chance to provide your own input and ideas on how to take our nonprofit to the next level. The IP will be supervised by the Facilities Director.
