Job DescriptionUnder limited supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled work associated with operating the City of Logan's warehouse facilities.
Qualifications- High School GED or equivalent and at least one year full‑time stores/warehousing experience using a computerized inventory control system.
- Forklift Operator Certified.
- Valid Utah Operator's License.
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity and lift, push or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly.
- Unload and take delivery of equipment, supplies, and materials; inspect goods received, verify specifications, and reconcile with invoices/bills of lading.
- Update inventory database to reflect incoming and outgoing items, mark items with stock numbers, and store them in appropriate locations.
- Perform annual physical inventory of warehouse materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Weigh, label, and package items for shipping by UPS, Fed Ex, or other carriers; reorganize/rotate stock; clean and sweep the warehouse facility.
- Operate a forklift and assist City employees in determining material needs; prepare special orders for items not in stock.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of stores/warehousing principles and practices.
- Knowledge of vendors and resources for identifying potential vendors of goods and services needed by City employees.
- Knowledge of basic inventory control practices and techniques.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with department heads, vendors, and sales representatives.
- Skill in operating a warehouse facility, including maintaining adequate inventory, operating equipment such as forklifts, and rotating/reorganizing stock.
- Skill in using computerized inventory systems.
