The Educator-Dentist provides mentorship and instruction to students in the School of Dentistry, focusing on preclinical and clinical education. They manage unexpected situations related to patient dental treatments, such as adverse reactions and emergencies. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Education and Experience:Doctorate Degree in Dentistry or equivalent is required. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred.
Knowledge andSkills:
- Strong knowledge of the discipline being taught.
- Training and competence in managing unexpected dental treatment situations.
- Knowledge of current educational technology and media used for teaching and presentations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in keyboarding (40 WPM), computer use, and software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, think critically, manage multiple tasks, and organize workload efficiently.
- Professional interpersonal skills to relate positively and effectively with others.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and respond courteously.
- Visual and auditory acuity necessary for the position, including color distinction and hearing ability.
Certifications:
Current DDS licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
