Job Summary:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides comprehensive anesthesia care, including general anesthesia, procedure-related sedation, and regional techniques. They collaborate with the medically-directed anesthesiologist, who is available throughout the anesthesia process, across LLUMC and affiliated sites. Responsibilities include determining age-specific anesthesia plans, communicating effectively during procedures, applying theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, and expanding clinical skills with a focus on anesthesia care.

The CRNA practices within their scope, adhering to LLUMC policies, protocols, guidelines, and applicable regulations. They utilize interpersonal skills to ensure excellent customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism, fostering a caring and cooperative environment among a diverse workforce and patient population. Services may be provided at LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Additional duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia is required. Recent clinical experience providing anesthesia care as a CRNA or student nurse anesthetist within the last twelve months is preferred.

Knowledge and

Skills:
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and communicate professionally in English (Spanish preferred).
  • Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Effective communication, assertiveness, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
  • Independently manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and organize work efficiently.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sensory abilities including color and smell discrimination, hearing, and visual acuity for reading and assessing patient care.
Licensures and

Certifications:
  • Valid California RN license.
  • California Nurse Anesthetist Certificate.
  • NBCRNA certification.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
