JOB SUMMARY

The Music Coordinator is responsible for overall worship music and music groups and their development and performance in worship and events at CPC, in accordance with the vision, message, and priorities of CPC, and reports to the Pastor.

Responsibilities

• The Music Coordinator will organize and provide the development of musical ensembles:
  • Praise Team – coordinating and participating in the Praise Team as needed
  • Performance Voice for traditional/contemporary solos
  • Coordinate traditional and Contemporary Special Music
  • Coordinate additional music with:
    -The organist
    -CPC Hand Bells, other age groups in CPC, and arrange for substitute musicians as needed.
• Manage the AV system to maximize sound quality
• Plan and lead special music during the Easter and Advent seasons, including Christmas Eve Service(s)
• Attend staff and relevant committee meetings
• Participate in opportunities for professional & spiritual growth

Estimated hours:
Sunday mornings, Praise Team rehearsal during the week, periodic ensemble rehearsal depending on the season -- 10 hours/week; salaried position

Skills Needed:

• Strong Vocal and preferred Keyboard, Piano or Guitar skills
• Experienced music leadership skills
• Effective interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

• Education in music at the collegiate level preferred
• Knowledge and appreciation for both contemporary and traditional Christian music
• Promote and uphold the mission of CPC
• Have calling to music ministry and a love for working with people
• Ability to identify, recruit, equip, direct and motivate lay believers in a variety of music
• Team player who can also work independently

Compensation commensurate with experience level / Federal Holidays Observed
