We’re seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom serving approximately 10 students, primarily with autism and varying support needs. The school day runs from 8:30 AM to 3:40 PM. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment tailored to each student’s needs.
Further Insight:
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Implement positive behavioral and classroom management strategies.
- Participate in IEP meetings and support the development of student goals.
- Lead and manage a self-contained classroom of approximately 10 students.
- Support students with autism, including those with significant support needs.
- Provide individualized instruction aligned with student IEPs and learning goals.
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience supporting students with autism and complex needs preferred.
- Ability to provide individualized instruction and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment.
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Special Education endorsement.
