Overview
MRI Technologist - Lombard - Float
Join to apply for the MRI Technologist role at Duly Health and Care. This is a full-time position with varied hours and locations.
Responsibilities- Performs a variety of complex diagnostic MRI procedures, completing diagnostic studies from inception to completion under the direction of the radiologist, including routine MRIs and MRAs, taking verbal patient histories, and administering IV contrast when required.
- Maintain a positive imaging environment and act as a patient liaison to the radiologist.
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas.
- Ensure MRI safety standards are met and that all ferromagnetic materials are outside the scan room.
- Explain emergency shutdown procedures and demonstrate fire and safety evacuations as needed.
- Check patient transfer/transport equipment for safe operation.
- Operate required equipment to produce scans using established MRI protocols; complete necessary protocol ling tasks and adhere to written MRI protocols.
- Identify patients using three unique identifiers and introduce the patient with name and role title.
- Explain procedures in layman’s terms and provide educational aids as needed; allow time for patient questions prior to exam start.
- Verify completion of MRI screening forms and validate information provided.
- Start IV access and administer IV contrast under physician direction; select appropriate IV site and equipment; monitor injection parameters and document appropriately.
- Position patient according to established MRI protocols to achieve high-quality images.
- Graduate of an accredited MRI education program.
- ARRT Registered Technologist (RT MR) or ARMRIT Certified Technologist required.
- BLS – Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR required.
- Minimum of one year MRI imaging experience.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods; frequent bending/stooping; reaching overhead and repetitive motions with computer work.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs; manipulate MRI coils/table and accessories; reach equipment at heights >6 feet; assist in moving patients to/from MRI table.
- Adequate eyesight and hearing to observe patient condition, read imaging screens, respond to inquiries, and monitor alarms.
- Ability to perform multitasking with composure under stress.
- Hours:
Varied; M-F schedule with options (7:00-3:30, 8:30-4:30, 10:30-6:30, or 11:30-8:00). Two weekend days per month 7:30am-4:00pm. Holiday and travel as needed. - Locations:
Hinsdale, Westmont, Oak Lawn.
