Hourly Pay Range
$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights- Sign On Bonus:
This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus. The first $500 will be paid on the pay date of the pay period in which you achieve your 6-month mark of employment. The remaining $500 will be paid on the pay date of the pay period in which you achieve your 1-year mark of employment, as long as you are still employed in this position at a 0.5 FTE or above. - Position:
Medical Assistant / Patient Service Representative - Dermatology - Location:
Elmhurst, IL (flexibility to travel to Lombard, IL) - Full Time: 40 hours /week

Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. (occasional late night until 7:30pm as needed, occasional Saturday 8am-12:30pm as needed no greater than 1x per month) - Required Travel: for coverage purposes at Lombard Office
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, majority of this position will be in the Patient Service Representative Role: answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, greets patients, registers new patients in EPIC, schedules laboratory and off-site diagnostic tests requested by physician, input faxes into EPIC, verify insurance eligibility and interprets covered benefits. Processes patient charges by totaling fees, applying insurance coverage, calculating adjustments, and receiving and recording payments in computer system.
Clinic set-up and other office support, including chart preparation.
As a Medical Assistant the expectation would be to fill in a clinical role when required. Responsibilities would include preparing patients for physical examination, rooming patients, obtaining specimens, assisting with office procedures, recording results as well as routine diagnostic tests, assisting with prior authorizations, form completion, instrument processing, stocking exam rooms, and daily open/closing routines. Under general supervision of a physician, will assist with some in office procedures.
Ability to rotate working the front end/clerical and execute clinical duties related to clinic operations.
What you will need:- High School Diploma or GED required
- Keyboard and computer skills
- A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
- A minimum of three months' previous business office OR healthcare-based experience (registration, scheduling, accounts, cash collections, or customer service experience in a healthcare setting)
- Previous insurance, managed care experience preferred
- Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Medical terminology or coding experience
- Certified, Registered, and Clinical Certified Medical Assistants (CMA , RMA or CCMA) are required to provide current certification or registration through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Health career Association (NHA) or any other certifying agency and should have at least 6 months of clinical experience.
- Candidates who are not certified or registered should have at least two years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting
- Associate's degree Business Administration/Management
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Bilingual is a plus.
