Lotus Bloom Psychology offers a postdoctoral fellowship that is a planned and programmed sequence of training focused on preparing fellows for advanced practice. We provide comprehensive clinical services, including diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and family support. We offer focused neuropsychological evaluations to assist in differential diagnosis. Our multidisciplinary clinicians utilize evidence-based, research-informed interventions grounded in relational theory, with a primary focus on strengthening relationships and empowering families.
The postdoctoral fellowship position begins on September 1st of each year and ends on August 31st of each year. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the position(s) are filled from November 15th to February 15th of each year.
Fellows are provided two hours of individual supervision per week, two hours of group supervision per week, and one additional hour of clinical staff meetings per week. Fellows will engage in opportunities for case consultation, didactic and seminars training throughout the year. Additionally, fellows engage in a rotating didactic experience that connects them with peers at nearby practices and allows them to learn from supervisors across various facilities throughout the year.
Developed by Dr. Ashley Houchin and fellow practice owners in the western suburbs of Chicago, this collaborative initiative enhances regional training opportunities.
While all fellows are expected to engage in neuropsychological assessments to some degree during the year, fellows are elibile to choose one track of focus from the list provided below:
Assessment Focused TrackFellows interested in spending the majority of their time conducting neuropsychological assessments would be a good fit for this track. Fellows are expected to carry a small therapy caseload in addition to their testing duties and are expected to complete two to four testing intakes per week.
Clinical Focused TrackFellows interested in spending the majority of their time conducting therapy sessions would be a good fit for this department. Therapy can take many forms including individual, couples, families, groups, and parent guidance. Additionally, fellows specializing in age specific populations, such as child/adolescent development, are able to focus their skill development within this department. We have a variety of theoretical orientations at the practice;
however, all clinicians incorporate a relational approach to their work to some degree. The relational approach is what binds us together as a group practice.
Fellows interested in providing clinical services in languages other than English would be a good fit within this department. Our practice currently has the infrastructure to provide services in Spanish and we have clients looking for services in Spanish. We are open to providers interested in providing services in other languages. While this is a developing effort, the practice supports the process of translating documentation and incorporating additional language services.
