We are seeking a full‑time, remote IT Application Development Manager with Salesforce experience. Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to Application Strategy and Development Standards in addition to the Design, Development, and Implementation of Application Solutions for the Enterprise. Manage integration technology solutions that support and promote collaboration with business partners. Manage a team of professionals composed of employees and contractors with various technology expertise.
The manager will lead a team responsible for supporting and optimizing a purchased Salesforce application, with a primary focus on leveraging out‑of‑the‑box features and configuration to meet business needs. Custom development will be considered only when configuration options are insufficient and a clear business case exists. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting packaged Salesforce solutions, strong skills in system configuration, and a pragmatic approach to balancing configuration and customization.
RESPONSIBILITIESSalesforce Application Management
- Oversee the support and enhancement of a purchased Salesforce application, ensuring maximum value is derived from standard package features and configuration tools (e.g., flows, validation rules, page layouts, permission sets).
- Establish and enforce a "configuration first" philosophy, minimizing custom code and development unless required for critical business needs.
- Evaluate requests for custom development, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical feasibility, and long‑term maintainability.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, supportable Salesforce configurations.
- Stay current with Salesforce platform updates and best practices, ensuring the team leverages new features and maintains compliance with platform standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation for configuration, customizations, and support processes
- Manage the maintenance and support of existing systems and the implementation of new systems as prioritized by the IT leadership and PMO.
- Define, develop and implement best practices in design, development, build/deploy and unit testing; develop metrics to manage performance.
- Work with cross functional teams to develop and track software development project deliverables such as development schedules, status reports, resource plans, issues/risks and mitigation plans; manage resources relating to projects production support activities within an Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Own the development and testing environment by keeping an updated copy of these environments; provide database and infrastructure groups the hardware and configuration requirements to make sure that the development environments will not be a bottle neck due to lack of hardware resource; maintain the development environment landscape to allow for scalability and maintainability.
