Carriage Animal Hospital in Lombard, Illinois is seeking to hire a Full-time Kennel Attendant to join our amazing team!
The successful candidate must have:
- Kennel experience (working at a Veterinary clinic, Shelter, daycare, or even taking care of own pets) - Training is available
- Strong communication skills
- A flexible schedule
- Be dependable, reliable, punctual, and organized
- Work well on a team
- Be able to keep an efficient log on patients in clinic
- Be able to multitask in a busy environment
- Lift and carry up to 40lbs
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
- Have reliable transportation
Kennel attendants provide the basic needs of animals that are being boarded, groomed, in daycare, or that are patients in the hospital. General duties include but are not limited to:
- Cleaning and sanitizing cages, boarding area, bathrooms, etc.
- Feeding and caring for canines and felines (occasionally pocket pets like hamsters)
- Walking canines, changing feline litter pans
- Doing laundry and washing, sanitizing pet dishes
- Cleaning and maintaining hospital interior and outside premises
- Checking on all patients throughout the day
- Bathing pets for the groomer or kennel baths after boarding
- Preparing pets for dismissal
- Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians when needed
- Giving medications to hospitalized or boarding patients (training will be provided)
- Communicating to Vets/Techs about patients' health that are being boarded or hospitalized
The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients and the highest quality medical and boarding care to their pets.
Priority will be given to applicants with Veterinary and/or Kennel experience. Pay rate will be determined by experience. The base hourly range for this position is $15-$17.
