Current Vacancy for Immediate Hire:
Licensed Vocational Nurse position for 6.0 hours per day / 208 Work Day Calendar
Application Process:
Applicants who meet the employment standards outlined in the job description and complete the supplemental questionnaire will be invited to testing.
Required Licenses:
Valid California LPN, LVN or RN license/certificate, First Aid and CPR Certificates issued by an authorized agency, and a valid driver’s license with evidence of insurability.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing health services to students and staff, including first aid, screening, emergency care, and nursing care according to individual health plans.
- Dispensing medications following district policies, monitoring reactions, and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintaining health records, immunization data, and reports.
- Assisting in screening programs and following up on health issues.
- Administering specialized health procedures like catheterizations, blood sugar monitoring, and emergency interventions.
- Operating medical equipment and maintaining a clean, safe health environment.
- Graduation from high school plus college-level coursework in nursing or related field, with two years of healthcare experience.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificates.
- California LPN, LVN, or RN license/certificate.
- Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability.
- Health office practices, emergency procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical equipment operation.
- Record-keeping, report preparation, and communication skills.
- Providing health services, emergency care, and health education.
- Maintaining records and complying with safety regulations.
- Operating medical equipment and interpreting policies.
- Communicating effectively and establishing cooperative relationships.
- Working independently and making appropriate decisions within guidelines.
