Our client is a growing organization within the real estate development, construction, and property management industry. They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to support their Finance team across multiple corporate entities, including multi-residential and commercial properties, development projects, and head office operations.
This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured environment, thrives on accuracy, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative and fast-paced setting.
Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial records, supporting month-end activities, and ensuring accounting processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
This position requires 2 days in-office
Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Month-End Support- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, amortizations, allocations, and reclasses
- Manage prepaid expenses, fixed assets, lease schedules, and mortgage amortizations
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and working papers
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately within the appropriate reporting periods
- Review and verify invoices for proper coding and approvals
- Confirm vendor details, allocations, and project accuracy prior to posting
- Reconcile accounts payable subledgers and investigate discrepancies
- Support invoice processing and payment coordination
- Process bank transactions and complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Record and reconcile accounts receivable activity
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transfers and transactions
- Prepare monthly working papers and supporting schedules
- Identify variances and provide analytical explanations where required
- Assist with audit preparation and year-end documentation
- Support ongoing accounting process improvements and departmental initiatives
- 5 years of bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience
- Diploma or degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and multi-entity environments
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central considered a strong asset
- Experience with AP automation systems and financial reporting tools is an asset
- Advanced Excel skills including reconciliations, pivot tables, and lookups
- Experience with in real estate, construction, or property management industries preferred
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
