Student Treasury Specialist

Position: Student Treasury Specialist - 4 Month Contract
Location: Southwestern Ontario

Gain valuable accounting experience as a Student Treasury Specialist with the Region of Waterloo for a 4-month term. This role involves financial analysis and accounting tasks, perfect for those pursuing a degree in business or accounting.

As a Student Treasury Specialist, you will support the Treasury Services Department by assisting in financial reconciliations and preparing journal entries. This temporary position provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your accounting knowledge while working independently and collaboratively. You'll utilize your computer skills 90% of the time, working with financial models, spreadsheets, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly sales and revenue reconciliation

• Prepare journal entries and verify financial transactions

• Analyze sinking fund investment transactions

• Maintain spreadsheets and generate financial reports

• Conduct special studies and cost/benefit analyses

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a related accounting or business program

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices

• Strong communication skills for team collaboration

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial software

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
