Virtek Accounting Specialist Position

Location: Southwestern Ontario

Become a key player with Virtek as an Accounting Specialist located in Waterloo, Ontario. This role emphasizes strong Excel proficiency and analytical skills for improved financial accuracy.

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will manage a range of accounting functions vital for the Finance department. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal entries, managing inter-company accounts, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Your contribution will enhance accurate financial reporting and internal control requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial records for monthly and quarterly closes

• Post and review journal entries with proper documentation

• Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts

• Manage accounts payable processes and T&E accounting

• Partner with Supply Chain for inventory accounting

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

• Minimum of 3 years accounting experience required

• ERP system proficiency, with Epicor as a plus

• Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to service
