About The Role
As a Repair Planner (Estimator) at our dynamic collision repair shop, you will be the central coordinator for damage analysis, insurer communication, parts procurement, and workflow optimization. Your role ensures that every vehicle repair project is efficiently planned and executed to meet quality standards and customer expectations. You will work closely with technicians, insurance appraisers, and parts suppliers to keep the repair process on track.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage repair schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely completion of repairs.
- Coordinate between technicians, parts departments, and external service providers to streamline repair processes.
- Identify and order the necessary parts and materials required for each repair job.
- Track parts delivery and manage inventory to prevent delays in repairs.
- Communicate with insurance companies and adjusters to confirm coverage details and timelines.
- Ensure repair procedures comply with industry standards, OEM guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Monitor repair quality and address any discrepancies or rework needs promptly.
- Handle inquiries and resolve issues to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of repair orders, parts usage, and completed work.
- Utilize shop management software to track and document the repair process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a collision repair environment, preferably in a planning or supervisory role.
- Familiarity with repair estimation, parts ordering, and automotive repair processes.
- Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple repair projects concurrently.
- Quick decision‑making skills to address unexpected challenges in the repair process.
- Precision in planning and documenting repair workflows to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
- Valid G or G2 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
- Proficient with technology, including tablets, laptops, and mobile devices.
- E ffective in communication through Teams, email, and other digital platforms.
