Your role and key responsibilities

The department Facility Construction Management (OF‑C) reports directly to the OF and is responsible for the facility construction of battery cell factories. OF‑C has overall responsibility for the planning projects and the timely construction of our battery cell factory in St. Thomas, Ontario, and for ensuring the facility construction of the new production facility, capacity expansions, variant scaffolding and conversions.

The construction of total/sub‑projects with regard to their project premises/investments and relevant interfaces within and outside the OF and external partners, the escalation and tracking of measures within Power Co Canada, as well as the construction and quality management within the framework of the construction processes and the control of milestones up to the production handover and the know‑how development for battery cell factories, as well as their standardisation.

The Construction Static Architecture Manager will oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of all static architectural elements in the construction of the large industrial facility. This role works closely with the Construction Senior Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that all architectural systems are designed and built according to the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality.

What you bring to the team
  • Oversee the design and execution of all static architectural components (e.g., walls, facades, floors, structural elements) in the facility construction projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that static architecture requirements are met within project timelines and budgets.
  • Manage the static architecture aspects of industrial facility projects from design through construction and handover stages.
  • Work closely with the Construction Senior Manager and other department heads to align architectural designs with the overall construction and operational goals.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, design consultants, and vendors to ensure that static architecture work complies with building codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the static architectural work during construction phases, ensuring integration with structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Ensure that all architectural works comply with safety regulations, building codes, and sustainability standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality of work and adherence to the design specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to architectural design and construction.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to static architectural elements, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality control.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to architectural designs, changes, and project progress.
  • Provide regular updates to the Construction Senior Manager on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external construction team members.
  • Interpret project documents to determine requirements and necessary actions.
  • Perform quality control/quality assurance related to construction and design.
  • Submit reports on project execution status.
  • Monitor and report on compliance in all aspects of the project.
