CAD/ AutoCAD/ Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineer
We are a fast-growing wellness and recovery products company hiring a full-time Physical Product Designer to take products from concept to factory-ready files.
This is not a role where you sketch concepts and hand them off to someone else. We need someone who can design the product, build the technical drawings and cut sheets, create the packaging, work directly with manufacturers, review samples, and get the product into production.
You will work across a wide range of product categories, including electrical stimulation devices (our current product, the Ultra Stimulator), red light therapy carpets, belts, and mats, infrared saunas, and supplements. Packaging design is a core part of this role, not an afterthought.
If you understand manufacturing, can produce clean technical files that factories can quote and build from, and know how to design packaging that looks premium and ships efficiently, you will thrive in this role.
What You'll Do- Design New Products: Take products from early sketches and concepts through to production-ready technical files, and improve existing products based on customer feedback and manufacturing realities.
- Create Technical Drawings: Build detailed 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in Solid Works, Fusion 360, or Rhino for manufacturing.
- Produce Cut Sheets and Tech Packs: Create spec sheets and tech packs that include dimensions, materials, tolerances, finishes, Pantone colors, and assembly details.
- Design Soft Goods: Develop belts, wraps, mats, and carpets, including pattern layouts, stitching details, fabric and material specs, and LED panel placement.
- Design Larger Structural Products: Work on saunas and similar products, including panel layouts, assembly drawings, heater and wiring placement coordination, and shipping considerations.
- Own Packaging Design: Lead packaging across all product lines, including retail boxes, inserts, mailer boxes, supplement bottles, labels, pouches, and shipping cartons.
- Build Dielines and Print‑Ready Artwork: Create structural packaging and dielines that protect the product, look premium, and keep shipping costs down.
- Design Supplement Labels: Lay out labels with required regulatory elements such as the Supplement Facts panel, warnings, and lot/expiry placement, working with the team to ensure compliance.
- Work With Manufacturers: Communicate directly with overseas factories and suppliers, review samples and prototypes, and provide clear revision feedback.
- Create Product Visuals: Produce renders and mockups for sales, Amazon listings, crowdfunding, and marketing.
- Design for Manufacturing: Weigh cost, durability, and manufacturability in every design decision.
- Stay Organized: Maintain a clean file library with version control for all product and packaging files.
You do not need deep expertise in every tool, but familiarity across this type of stack is preferred:
- 2D and 3D CAD: AutoCAD, Solid Works, Fusion 360, or Rhino.
- Packaging and Graphics: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Rendering: Key Shot, Blender, or similar.
- Prototyping: 3D printing, foam models, and sewing mockups.
- File Formats: DWG, STEP, STL, AI, and print‑ready PDF.
- Project Management: , Notion, Asana, or similar platforms.
- AI Tools: ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI‑assisted design, research, and documentation tools.
- You understand manufacturing: You know how injection molding, sewing and soft goods, sheet metal, wood, and electronics enclosures affect design decisions.
- You can execute: You produce your own production‑ready files and do not need someone else to finish your drawings.
- You know packaging: You understand dielines, structural packaging, print production (CMYK, bleeds), and finishes like foil, emboss, and spot UV.
