Job Description

Waterloo Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join our team on a full-time, fixed-term basis.

Classroom Teacher, MPS/UPS

Full-time, fixed-term until August 2026 pending a review of funding.

Main Responsibilities

The postholder will:

  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning in Year 5.
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to meet the needs of a diverse pupil population.
  • Support pupils of all abilities and backgrounds, ensuring access to curriculum for all.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with support staff/teaches to maintain high expectations and continuity for pupils.
  • Contribute to the inclusive, supportive ethos of the school.
  • Provide constructive feedback to pupils and support their progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, CPF and school events as required.
  • Engage with parents and carers, informing them of pupils' progress at key points in the year.
  • Uphold and model the school's values and expectations at all times.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
