Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track Position) – Strategic Management Area

The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in the Strategic Management Area, commencing July 1, 2027. The positions are subject to budgetary approval.

Anticipated Salary Range: $120, 000, 000 to $170, 000. Actual salary to be commensurate with experience.

The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics has over 150 full-time faculty and more than 6000 undergraduate and graduate students on campuses in Waterloo, Brantford, and Milton, Ontario. Waterloo is a highly innovative and dynamic region. It is home to several leading high technology firms, insurance companies and educational/research institutions (e.g. University of Waterloo, the Balsillie School of International Affairs and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics).

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Strategic Management or related field, or completion of Ph.D. within one year and have a strong record or promise in both research and teaching.

Successful candidates for the position must have demonstrated ability to:

  • conduct research in the field of Strategic Management;
  • publish in top-tier peer-reviewed academic business journals;
  • maintain a highly productive and coherent research agenda;
  • effectively teach multi-section core strategic management courses to undergraduate business students using a common course outline;
  • communicate the relevance of their research to a business audience;
  • work collaboratively and enhance a culture of inquiry, collegiality and creativity.
