Position Summary:

Students will advance and critically examine their knowledge, perspectives, biases, and practices in relation to Indigenous peoples’ health. This introductory course will include lectures, Indigenous guest presenters, activities, and critical self-reflection to facilitate learning about a) Indigenous determinants of health, b) cultural humility, and c) strengths-based and promising approaches to health practices, research, policies, and programming.

Qualifications – Required Academic Degree: PhD or PhD (candidate)

Qualifications – Required Discipline: Community Health, Epidemiology, Health Studies, Health Sciences, Human Rights.

Qualifications – Required Areas of Specialization: extensive lived/living experience as an Indigenous person or working with Indigenous communities.

This appointment is in accordance with the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement, for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent. All applicants are assessed using both the “Appendix H:
